News update: Camera installed at Ranthambore National Park for census purpose have captured the images of two cubs born to tigress 107. Both cubs seem to be four to five months old.

Their arrival in the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve has increased the tiger population – including cubs and sub adults to 25. Earlier this week, tigress 102 was seen with her four cubs. Though it is good news for the wildlife lovers but Ranthambore always faces the scarcity of territory. High density of tiger population is living in small area which results in a territorial fight.

According to Ranthambore National Park District Forest officer Mahendra Kumar Sharma, “it is for the first time in park that the young tigress has given birth to cubs and the forest staffs are constantly monitoring their movement”.

Photographs of the two cubs with their mother were captured in the camera traps at the reserve’s Amreshwar forest. Previous photos of T-107 had revealed her pregnancy. ““A camera trap exercise between January and April has revealed the presence of 19 males, 25 females and 19 sub adult tigers in the reserve.

The arrival of the new guests has increased the worries of the park authorities as the number of big cats in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve has reached a point where it can no longer sustain them.
