About Ranthambore Online Safari Booking Permit

The safari booking permit is an official authorization that allows entry into the national park for a specific date, time, vehicle (such as a Gypsy or Canter), and zone. It covers entrance fees and is necessary for legally observing animals in their natural habitat, requiring advance planning, especially during peak times. This personal and non-refundable permit requires ID proof (passport for foreigners) and helps ensure controlled access to protect wildlife and support conservation efforts.

  • The foremost thing to know about the Ranthambore safari permit is that it is fully governed and managed by the forest department of Ranthambore National Park. It functions under the forest ministry of Rajasthan state Govt.
  • Both the jeep and canter safaris are operated in two shifts - morning shift and afternoon shift.
  • Advance booking for the safari is allowed through the online process and the same day safari booking can be made by visiting the official booking counter in Ranthambore.
  • Please note that both advance booking or same day counter booking is subject to availability of safari vehicles.
  • Safari in Ranthambore National Park is organized for tourists from 1st October to 30th June and remains closed for the remaining months of the year, i.e., from July to September due to the monsoon season.
  • Generally, most of the safari seats are booked well in advance through online booking. Therefore, it is advised to book the safari ticket well in advance before visiting the Ranthambore tiger reserve. Advance booking can be conducted maximum 90 days prior the chosen date, 12:00 pm onwards.
  • At the time of online safari booking, tourists need to provide the full name (as mentioned on the ID card) and a photo ID number of each visitor. The same ID proof has to be produced to the forest officials at the time of entry into the national park.
  • In case of any inaccuracies or incomplete information regarding the name and identification proof provided, the forest department maintains the authority to cancel the safari reservation at any point.
  • Tourists are asked to provide the information like the safari date, safari time (morning/afternoon), safari vehicle (Jeep/Canter) and the total number of travellers planning to visit.
  • As the photo ID proof for the Indian nationals, the Passport / Driving license / Pan Card / Voter ID / Aadhaar Card /School ID or any other Government ID is acceptable. Whereas, Foreign Nationals need to provide only their passport as the photo ID proof.
  • For the confirmed safari permit, you have to pay the full fee in advance, which includes the park entrance fee, vehicle fee and guide fee. The confirmed safari permit is non-refundable, non-transferable and non-exchangeable in any circumstances.
  • The jeeps and canters, registered with the forest department, are only allowed to enter the national park for the safari. No private vehicles are allowed inside the safari zones, and violating the rules is subject to strict actions by the Forest Department.
  • The forest department assigns the safari vehicle, guide and the tourism zone on a random basis. Visitors don't have an option to choose any particular vehicle, guide or tourism zone.
