The Demand for tourists booking wildlife safari has seen a rise with the commencement of the tourist season. To make them aware of the wildlife, the Forest Department is making efforts to bring tourists to the forests. Also, it has now been decided that Mukundra and Sariska will no longer be tiger reserves after Ramgarh. 4 Tigers will be shifted from Ranthambore’s non-tourism. In the poisonous forest, the tigress will be shifted to one side.

Shifting of Tiger-Tigress Pair in Sariska and Mukundra

One pair of tiger and tigress will be shifted in Sariska and Mukundra. The Forest Department will prepare for the shifting next week, after the approval of NTCA. There are two tiger reserves in Rajasthan. There are 78 tigers and tigress in Ranthambore National Park whereas, in Sariska, there are 24 tigers that have become old so the reserve needs both tigers and tigress. As told by the Chief Wildlife Warden, there is a need to balance the tiger population in Ranthambore, and on the other hand, the Sariska and Mukundra need tigers and tigress therefore, the shifting will be carried the next week.

Officials from the state forest department said two tigers will be sent to the Mukundra and Sariska tiger reserves following further approvals from the central government. The Field Director of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve told PTI that the proposal of the State Forest Department to shift one tiger to the Sariska and the other to Mukundra has been approved by the technical committee of the NTCA.

Two Tigresses will be transferred in the next phase

Regarding the proposal being sent, the two tigresses will be transferred in the next phase. The Area Director of Mukundra Tiger Reserve said that preparations are being done to shift the male tiger from Ranthambore National Park to Mukundra and after this, there is a proposal to shift a tigress to Mukundra
