Safari in the Ranthambore Might Get Stalled Due to the Strike

Ranthambore Going to Launch the Electric Vehicles for the Tiger Safari

News Update: 28-November-2018

For the betterment of the ecology of the Ranthambore National Park, the forest officials of the Rajasthan state will soon be going to launch the electric vehicles for the wildlife safari. It has been noticed that the air pollution has been escalating due to the use of the Jeeps and Canters for the forest safari in the prominent National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries of Rajasthan such as Ranthambore National Park, Sariska National Park and Jhalana Safari Park. So, the forest department of Rajasthan has decided to switch over to the electric vehicles for the wildlife safari in those forests where the Jeep safari and the Canter safari are organized by the respective park authorities.

The use of the electric vehicles for the wildlife safari was first ever started in the Tadoba National Park by the Maharashtra forest department. After the use of the electric vehicles in the forest, the noise and air pollution in the region reduced significantly. As per the information by the relevant sources, the tenders for the electric vehicles have already been out for the Ranthambore National Park and the Jhalana Safari Park. Both of the park administrations have already sent the related tenders. This is a good step by the forest department as the rising air and sound pollution in the forest regions is harmful to the health of the wild animals and fauna of the forest.

Due to the use of so many Jeeps and Canters every day around the year, the serene and pure environment of the forests decline with the time. The harsh noise of the vehicles agitates and scares the wild animals and the hazardous smoke pollutes their natural habitat. An official of the forest department said that the use of electric vehicles in the Tadoba National Park has also been appreciated by the visitors and it attracts more tourists in the park as it made the sighting much easier than earlier.

The forest official said, "The electric vehicles will prove very useful at Jhalana in Rajasthan, as the animal species including tigers and Panthers are very shy. They hide in the inner areas of forests when they hear noise generated by canters. The electric vehicles will create zero disturbances for them and the tourists will be easily able to see them during the safari." The electric vehicles will be a feature-rich vehicle with the capacity of having more than 100 km run upon full charge. The seating capacity of the electric vehicle is similar to the Jeep Safari. It can accommodate six tourists at a time apart from the driver and a guide.

According to the Chief Wildlife Warden of Rajasthan, GV Reddy, the electric vehicles will soon be started for the wildlife safari in the Jhalana forest and also the tenders for the Ranthambore National Park related to the electric vehicles have already been released. The electric vehicles have gone through many years of development to be suitable for running in the forest. Initially, the e-vehicles were not suitable enough to run on the rough uneven surface of the forest as it can only run on the plain surface. However, the trial run of the advanced e-vehicle in the forest was a success and proved to be totally perfect for the Jungle safari.
