Being a highly honored tiger reserve in India, the Ranthambore National Park is visited by millions of wildlife enthusiasts from all over the world. The wildlife safari in Ranthambore is an excellent way to explore the forest enriched with wild predators like royal Bengal tigers and leopards. Looking for the sight of a tiger following their trails and suddenly spot a tiger just about a few feet away is enough to make your blood cold and raise your heartbeat.
The Ranthambore park administration provides safari service in two shifts - one in the morning and one in the afternoon in the two types of safari vehicles, a Jeep and a Canter. There are 20 Jeeps and 20 Canters are allowed to enter in the park in one shift. The Jeep is a 6-seaters vehicle open from all sides and the Canter is a 20-seaters bus which is also open from all sides. Safari vehicles are open from all sides for the best viewing experience of the wildlife. The national park is divided into the 10 eco-tourism zones to make sure the tourist flow evenly distributed throughout the forest.
Each vehicle is allotted a particular safari zone and any vehicle can't change its zone after entering the forest as well as has to move only on the fix safari tracks. However, there is a good network of safari tracks in every zone to trail the tiger or simply explore the zone. The zone is allotted randomly to each vehicle by the forest officials at the time of entry into the park. Normally, the tourism zone once allotted can't be changed after the allotment. However, your zone can be changed on the special request and after paying an extra fee of around 1000 INR, but the discretion of changing the zone solely depends upon the park officials.
