Virtual Tiger Rallies Across 51 Wildlife Sanctuary To Save Big Cats

People from different regions come together to create awareness of the importance of Tiger’s protection. The rally on wheels from Nagpur to Bor Tiger Reserve, on Sunday, October 6 is about to be done.

The rally is going to cover a distance of over 7,500 km in seven days. The government has intended to commemorate ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav which is nationwide campaign that is going to focus on people’s gathering to be rehabilitated into ‘janandolan’.

The rally is from Achanakmar, Udanti-Sitanadi, and Indravati tiger reserve in Chattishgarh and reached to TATR, NNTR and Pench on Saturday. This is going to reach to Amravati on October 4 and rally moves through Melghat.

The initiative is to conclude the event at Ranthambore National Park, Bandipur, Kanha, Melghat, Similipans, Sunderbans, Manas, Palamau and other areas, representing our country’s first nine tiger reserves elected in Project Tiger in 1973.

The presence of 51 tigers and their participation in landscape level along with the stakeholders will follow the roots and join at the certain point where celebration occurs. The event aims to showcase the full presence of tiger with the core value of Indian culture, history, literature, mythology with the perception to give due right to big cat to have peace and security.

The tiger plays vital role in ecological process. Its security also conserves habitats of several other types and by this means ensure stability of the natural sustainable process in the in their natural habitat.

The All India Tiger Estimation 2018 data shows that the tiger population in India stands at 2,967 range between 2,603 to 3,346. In India tiger quantity in 2018 twice times more, well before the targeted global time limit of 2022.

Even when India has more than 70 per cent of the global tigers, yet there is more and more uncertain future with the risk of fall in numbers for wild tigers persist due to poaching, illegal trade, and earth employ changes.

The Ranthambore National Park has taken its name from the famous Ranthambore Fort which is situated within the park. The park is located in the district of Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan and at the distance of around 11 km from the Sawai Madhopur railway station.
