A Local Woman Attacked and Killed by a Tiger in Ranthambore National Park

In a tragic incident occurred in the Ranthambore National Park, an old lady of around 62 years old got killed by a tiger inside the premises of the reserve forest area. It is said that the victim lady went to the restricted forest area to collect the firewood on the Thursday morning when the tiger attacked her and dragged her body inside the forest. Ranthambore National Park is one of the most famous tiger reserves in India and known for being one of the highest tiger density reserves.

As soon as the forest officials got the information about the missing lady inside the forest, the senior forest officials of Ranthambore along with a team of the local policemen rushed to the incident location and started the search process to locate her body. After the heavy effort of around three hours, the rescue team of the forest officials found the victim’s body in the forest.

The victim was a 62-years old local lady known as Nauranti Devi, who was the resident of the nearby locality of the Brahmapuri area of the Sawai Madhopur district. According to the information, the deceased lady went inside the reserve forest along with another lady named Sampat Devi to collect the firewood on Thursday morning at around 11 am. During the search of the firewood, both the ladies got separated and then the victim got attacked by the tiger and dragged deep into the forest.

After hearing the scream of Nauranti Devi, her companion Sampat Devi realized what happened with her. She immediately returned back to the village and at around 1 pm, she informed the victim’s family about the tragedy happened with Nauranti Devi in the forest. The victim’s family and other local people informed the forest department and the local police about it. A rescue team of the forest officials reached at the spot immediately.

The victim’s body was discovered after a search operation carried out for more than three hours. After examining the body, it was declared that the woman had been mauled by the tiger to death. According to the forest officials, the area where the victim’s body was found is the region where the movements of the tigers, T-57 and T-98 were noticed recently. But, it is still not known that the woman has been killed by these tigers.
