A recent sighting of tigress T-127 with two cubs in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve on August 01 has generated optimism among conservationists and wildlife enthusiasts. The tiger reserve, widely recognised for its strong tiger population and sustained conservation initiatives, has once again drawn attention with this encouraging development.
The sighting was reported from Zone 7 of Ranthambore National Park, where monitoring teams have been closely observing the tigress for some time. According to Divisional Forest Officer Manas Singh, changes in T-127’s behaviour and physical condition had earlier suggested the possibility of cubs. As a result, forest officials intensified surveillance using camera traps, routine patrols, and other scientific tracking methods to confirm the development.
Although two cubs have been seen alongside the tigress, officials have indicated that the total number of cubs cannot yet be confirmed. It has been noted that not all cubs may have been captured in camera footage so far, and a verified count will only be announced after thorough observation and validation.
Forest authorities have emphasised that ensuring the safety and uninterrupted growth of the cubs remains a top priority. Continuous monitoring and protection measures are being maintained in the tigress’s territory to safeguard the family from any potential threats. These efforts are part of a broader conservation framework aimed at maintaining ecological balance within the reserve.
The successful reproduction of tigress T-127 is being viewed as a positive indicator of the effectiveness of long-term conservation strategies in the region.
